Modular snap lock seam

Modular snap lock seam is an interesting alternative to the long panels of the classic system. In this article, you will learn how to use this profile to achieve the effect of a crosswise connection in the so-called "staggered pattern" with a much more efficient workload - without the need to cut, adjust and rabbet long sheets to the often multi-slope roof structure.

Main design assumptions

Savoy was created to streamline the roofer's work and the logistics associated with the installation of long sections of sheet metal. Minimizing the impact of thermal expansion thanks to modular dimensions and embossing that compensates for the overlapping layers of sheet metal are the main pillars of the concept of this profile. Production technology allows for automatic application of butyl tape, which perfectly protects against capillary contraction. Thanks to this solution, we can minimize the size of the overlap, which is 6 cm. On large surfaces, this solution allows for saving material, while ensuring perfect tightness and aesthetic appearance of cross joints.

Modern technologies in the service of roofs

Supporters of traditional rebate roofing emphasize the craftsmanship, but the current needs of the market are different. Investors want to obtain durable, aesthetic roofing in a short time and at the lowest possible cost. The technological solutions used in Savoy production make work on the roof efficient - without unnecessary cutting and bending. Just like our modular metal roof tiles, Savoy sheets connect in an orderly manner, creating a tight and durable roofing. The traditional rebate seam remains irreplaceable for roofs with complex, arched geometry.

A comprehensive, not complicated system

The Savoy modular seam system consists of two sheet models - basic and supplementary. Depending on the project, the program RoofingCAD allows you to plan the perfect solution for a specific roof surface. This is an intuitive tool for generating material requirements, available on our website. Ready-made panels are manufactured exactly to your personalized dimensions, which makes their placement on the roof much easier.

A whole range of possibilities

Savoy is available in many variants – from deep matt in a shade of graphite to satin finishes with RBDC color palettes from the Scandinavian concern SSAB. GreenCoat® sheets in the Ceramic Matt Pro BT variant are a nod to the retro style. The colors from this line perfectly match classic residential architecture, modern barns and renovations of historic buildings. Your roof will stand in time thanks to its high UV resistance and 75-year functional warranty.

The practical side of dividing sheets

The Savoy rąbek is an ideal solution for renovations of historic tenement houses and religious buildings in city centers. In places where transport and assembly of long panels is difficult - for example in narrow streets - the modular format of the Savoy significantly facilitates logistics.

The low weight of the sheets means that Savoy can be installed even on unreinforced roof structures that would not withstand heavier roof coverings. This is a modern, durable and aesthetic solution that does not burden the structure and harmoniously fits into the historic architecture.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does Savoy assembly require specialist tools?
No. The locking system is designed to be installed using standard roofing tools.

What lengths are available for Savoy panels?
The system consists of two types of panels:
- Base panel: length from 1,06 m to 4,06 m
- Supplementary panel: length from 0,56 m to 2,06 m
This allows for flexible adjustment of the panel layout to different roof surfaces.

Is the Savoy hem resistant to thermal expansion?
Correct installation of Savoy short sheets minimises the risk of deformation caused by temperature changes.

What should you pay attention to when installing Savoy?
– preparation of the substructure according to the assembly instructions,
– correct positioning of sheets,
- compliance with optimization RoofingCAD during demand planning,
– no contamination that could affect the adhesion of butyl, which would result in reduced stability of joints
